Arlington, Virginia – Today, the American Trucking Associations hailed a proposal by the Department of Labor to modernize the rules governing regular rate requirements.
“Broadly speaking, this proposal will ease regulatory burdens for many of our members,” said ATA President and CEO Chris Spear, “but more than that, it will make it easier for them to offer a wider array of benefits like discount packages, wellness programs, various reimbursements for travel and unused leave and tuition repayments.
“We appreciate the Labor Department and Secretary Acosta advancing this common sense modernization of these rules so they can account for many of the perks modern workers expect from their employer,” he said.
