Leading Industry Supporter Marks a Decade of Support for the ‘Super Bowl’ of Safety
Arlington, Virginia – Today, the American Trucking Associations announced Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC will once again sponsor the grand championship title of the National Truck Driving Championships. This year the 2021 National Battle of the States will be held on a virtual platform.
“This has been a challenging year and a half for our industry and our country, but we are thankful we are turning the corner into recovery,” said ATA President and CEO Chris Spear. “While we are looking very much forward to gathering together next year to declare a driver the Bendix Grand Champion in person, we are pleased that Bendix is supporting this year’s virtual event, the National Battle of the States.”
“While the 2021 format may be virtual, the ATA truck driving championships continue as the premier showcase for honoring America’s safe commercial vehicle drivers,” said Fred Andersky, director, demos, sales & service training at Bendix, who also holds a Class A CDL. “We are proud to return for our 10th year as the Grand Champion sponsor and to support the competition.”
The 2021 National Battle of the States: Virtual Truck Driving Championships will begin on July 31 with state-level trivia contests based on Facts for Drivers, federal and state laws, state trucking history and culture. That leads into the national competition that takes place on August 14 and will culminate with the naming of a Bendix Grand Champion.
The 2022 National Truck Driving Championships is expected to be in-person in Indianapolis, Indiana.
