This week the Secretary of Defense took several steps to rein in the Global Household Goods contract and address the flaws in the PCS system. Part of his recommendations included the creation of a task force under the joint supervision of the Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, USD (A&S) and the Undersecretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, USD (P&R). As has been noted on Thursday’s TRANSCOM call and during the Secretary’s video message on Wednesday, the TF is expected to undertake its reforms following the conclusion of the peak moving season.
This afternoon, the ATA-MSC sent a letter to Major General Lance Curtis requesting an opportunity to take part in that Task Force, as well as provide some solutions to help reduce the coming challenges this summer. Read the full letter below.
