About the Presenter:

Bill Mahorney, Division Chief, Enforcement Division, FMCSA

Bill Mahorney began his Federal career with the FHWA's Office of Motor Carriers as a Safety Investigator in Arkansas Division in 1987. Coming to Headquarters in 1989, he helped develop regulation in the areas of CDL, Vehicle, and medical standards. Later, he served as a Transportation Specialist in both the State Programs and Intelligent Transportation Systems/Commercial Vehicle Operations Divisions before leaving for the private sector in 1997, where he served as a Sr. Safety Engineer at the American Trucking Associations, as DOT Program Manager at Computing Technologies, Inc. (CoTs) and as Director of Safety, Security, and Regulatory Programs and Executive Director of the Bus Industry Safety Council for the American Bus Association. He returned to Federal service in 2005 with the Federal Highway Administration's Office of Freight Management and Operation's Size and Weight Team, before returning to FMCSA as Assistant Program Manager returning to FMCSA as Assistant Program Manager of the CSA 2010 project in 2007. In April 2009, Bill was selected as Division Chief of the Enforcement Division within the Office of Enforcement and Program Delivery, his current position. Bill is a 1986 Graduate of the University of Colorado, with a double major in Transportation Distribution Management and Marketing.
