TMC Honors Industry Leaders During Annual Meeting

Nashville, Tenn. – Today, American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council honored several industry professionals with a variety of awards for their important service to the council and the industry.

“For more than six decades, TMC has striven to advance the professional standards for commercial vehicle maintenance,” said Carl Kirk, ATA vice president of maintenance, information technology & logistics and TMC executive director. “The technicians and executives we honor here are doing that every day – and they all set the bar for excellence in this industry every day.”

Honorees at this year’s TMC annual meeting were:

  • Jeff Spitzner, senior account manager, Eaton, who was honored with the Study Group Secretary Award;
  • Don VanFleet, area service leader, Swift Transportation and Benjamin Steines, service manager, Ruan Transportation Management Systems, who were honored with the Excellence in Maintenance Supervision Award;
  • Marty Martinelli, national accounts sales manager, Old World Industries and Jill Gingrich, director of client support, Wheeltime, who were honored as Recognized Associates; and
  • Jim LeClaire, president of Old Bull Inc., who was honored with TMC’s first Uncle Darrell TMC Mentor Award

In addition to these awards, TMC also recognized the winning schools of the 2016 TMCFutureTech Student Technicians Competition, presented by Velociti: Francis Tuttle Technology Center, Oklahoma City; Forsyth Technical Community College, Winston-Salem, N.C. and Utah Valley University, Orem, Utah.
