About the Speakers
Moderator: Jaime Hamm, Vice President of Safety and Compliance, Werner Enterprises
A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Jaime Hamm started her career with Werner Enterprises in the Safety Department in 1997. She has held several positions within Safety, including Assistant Supervisor of Log Compliance, Manager of Log Compliance, Corporate Safety Specialist, Corporate Safety Manager, Manager of Loss Prevention within the Risk Department and Senior Director of Safety Compliance. In 2013, Jaime was promoted to Vice President of Safety and Compliance, where she now oversees 250 Safety and Terminal Management associates. At Werner, safety is the top priority, and Jaime continually researches and executes new methods to improve safety results and keep professional drivers in the safest trucks possible.
Heavily involved in the trucking industry, Jaime is a Safety Policy Committee Member for the American Trucking Association, as well as a former Chair on the Technology and Engineering Policy Committee. Currently, she serves on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Motor Carrier Safety Advisory Committee and is a Board member for the PrePass Safety Alliance. She played a pivotal role in implementing hair follicle testing at Werner, sleep apnea testing and compliance monitoring. She works closely with the executive team to advance the performance and safety of Werner’s professional drivers so they can keep America moving.
Dorwenda Bynum-Lewis, Driver Experience Manager, Werner Enterprises
Dorwenda began her professional journey in the academic arena, where she held a directorial position at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst for over a decade. During her tenure she implemented several strategic initiatives in residence life that are used in learning institutions nationwide.
Upon her retirement from higher education, and with eagerness to broaden her horizons, Dorwenda applied her skills to a new set of challenges in the transportation industry. After several years as a company ambassador and professional driver, Dorwenda transitioned back into an office setting where she now holds a position as a Driver Experience Manager at Werner Enterprises.
With a foundation built on countless miles of safe driving and a deep understanding of the industry, Dorwenda brings a wealth of practical knowledge to her current role. Her journey exemplifies the potential for professional evolution within the transportation sector and the positive impact individuals can have when they bring their unique experiences to new horizons.
Rhonda Hartman, America's Road Team Captain, Professional Truck Driver, Old Dominion Freight Line
Rhonda Hartman has been a professional truck driver for over 41 years and has accumulated more than 3.1 million accident-free miles. She is a professional truck driver for Old Dominion Freight Line. Rhonda began her career as an owner-operator starting in 1983. She ran 48 states, Canada, and Mexico.
Rhonda received Old Dominion’s 10-Year Safe Driving Award. She was recognized for 10 years of safe driving with her previous employer, Walmart Transportation. In 2020, Rhonda won the American Trucking Association’s Mike Russell Award. In 2023, she was named one of IRU’s New Industry Shapers.
Rhonda has participated in the Iowa State Truck Driving Championships for eight years placing three times in both second place and third place.
Rhonda is a member of the Iowa Road Team.
Rhonda’s favorite thing to do since making America’s Road Team is educating young drivers on how to be safe around trucks, attending career days, and educating the public on what a great industry trucking is.
Rhonda lives in Iowa and has 5 children and 10 grandchildren.
Malik Henderson, Regional Director of Field Operations, PrePass Safety Alliance
Malik Henderson joined PrePass Safety Alliance as a Regional Director in 2021 after spending nearly 34 years with the Missouri State Highway Patrol. He began with the MSHP as a Trooper and was promoted through the ranks, completing his career as Assistant Superintendent.
Emily Plummer, America's Road Team Captain, Professional Truck Driver, Prime Inc.
Emily Plummer has been a professional truck driver for 24 years and has accumulated over 3.5 million safe driving miles. She is an over-the-road driver for Prime Inc.
Emily received Prime Inc.’s 2022 Highway Diamond of the Year award. She won Prime Inc.’s One-, Two-, and Three-Million Mile Award. Emily was named the Truckload Carriers Association’s 2023 Professional Driver of the Year.
Emily served on Prime Inc.’s Driver Advisory Board for three years. She was selected to serve as a member and continues to serve on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Women in Trucking Advisory Board.
Emily resides in Springfield, Missouri with her husband, Gary.
