With the demand for fleet management software solutions on the rise and the needs customers are expecting the solutions to meet expanding, companies that offer such solutions need to prepare to provide assurance to their customers and prospective customers that they have controls in place to protect their customers’ data. In this two-part series, we will define what Systems and Organization Controls (SOC) reporting is and explain the purpose of each type of SOC report, including the relevancy of SOC reporting to the fleet management industry.
About the Presenter:
Laura E. Naples, CPA, CISA, CITP
Laura is a member of BKD’s IT Risk Services division. She has more than eight years of internal controls experience leading and managing a multitude of external audit and attestation engagements such as SSAE 18 (SOC 1) and SOC 2 reporting, SOX integrated audit compliance testing, and IT general control risk assessments for clients in various industries, including organizations performing retirement services and benefit administration.
She is a licensed CPA, a Certified Information Systems Auditor® (CISA®), and a Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP). She also is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Illinois CPA Society, and ISACA®.
Laura is a graduate of Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, with a B.S. degree in management and an M.S. degree in accounting.
